Hey there,
If you’ve been around for any period of time, you know I firmly believe mindset to be a crucial step in taking back control of your health.
So much so that shifting your mindset is the basis of my
Take Your Power Back from Autoimmunity Challenge.Obviously, having such a strong belief in the power of mindset is not something I’m alone in.
Which is why, for this post, we’re revisiting three powerful guests from the
Inspired Living with Autoimmunity Podcast who have leveraged the power of their mind to overcome tremendous challenges:
- Talia Halberor: she leveraged mindset to reverse her multiple sclerosis when every doctor had told her the best she could hope for was to slow down the progression.
- Samantha Harris: found out she had breast cancer at the top of her career and not only survived -but thrived- thanks in no small part to mindset.
- Dr. Keira Barr: is a dermatologist turned functional medicine doctor who helps women understand the connection between their mind and their body –specifically their skin– and how you can leverage mindset for radiant skin!
The reason I want to talk about this today is because when you’re suffering from autoimmunity you’re told the best –and often only– way to address it is putting yourself in your doctor’s hands and hoping for the best.
How’s that working out you?
It didn’t work for me, that’s for sure. And it hasn’t worked for most of my clients.
So chances are… it’s not working out for you either.
And the reason is not because your doctor is incompetent or doesn’t care about you.
It’s because by putting yourself in someone else’s hands, you’re giving up control. You’re giving up the power to manage your condition. You’re telling your mind –and by extension every cell in your body– that you’re not in charge.
Your Mind Influences Everything
Again, if you’ve been around me (or any other health coach worth their salt!), you’ve likely been told your body tells different organs to produce hormones, controls the immune response from your cells, regulates temperature, blood pressure and millions of other things without you having to do anything.
It all happens subconsciously.
But the mistake most people make is thinking they can’t influence these different functions
consciously. But you definitely can. It’s been proven time and again.
You just need to have the right mindset.
