It may seem silly to ask if you are breathing 😂
Clearly, if you are reading this you are breathing...
BUT...are you breathing properly?
I had a great conversation with a podcast guest a few days ago, and it reminded me that we often overlook the simplest, most effective tools for wellness.
I am talking about diaphragmatic breathing.
Deep, belly breaths.
Do you intentionally take them throughout the day?
Most of us spend our time taking shallow breaths into the top of our lungs only. This leads to tension between the shoulders and doesn't help our nervous system shift into the parasympathetic, rest and heal, state that we need to encourage. A bit of intention can drastically change things.
The breath is powerful!
And using it is FREE!
Take Action
Place one hand on your chest and one on your belly. Take slow deep breaths that only move the hand on your belly. This may take a little practice. THAT is the breath I am referring to. Once you feel what diaphragmatic breathing feels like, do it several times a day!
