This week I am sharing a personal gift, to motivate and inspire you.

It was my birthday yesterday.
I have never been one to make a big deal about my birthday, and even as a young girl I never wanted a big celebration.

If you know my story, you know that I didn't expect to see 50.
So now I celebrate!
I am 54, and I feel better than I did at 40, and my life is full of blessings I didn't expect.
I celebrate!  But, typically quietly.

This morning I got a call from my 25 year old son.  He was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (an autoimmune condition) when he was in high school.  He has been under a Rheumatologist's care ever since.

He has learned a lot. And watched me heal.
He has lived cleaner at times, and like a more typical young man at times.
He has a job that is more than full time, and passions and friends that keep him busy.

The phone call:
"Mom, I thought you would like to know that I have officially been dismissed as a patient at the Arthritis Center because I have managed my symptoms without medications for over a year and the doctor said he doesn't need to see me anymore, because I don't have any disease activity."

I am not only grateful for what this means for his future, but I am proud as his mother, and as someone who knows the commitment it takes to manage inflammation drivers...especially for a young man.

I am sharing this with you so that wherever you are in your healing journey you know:
You are not alone!
It takes commitment to reverse symptoms!
I know it isn't always easy!

And most importantly...
You can do this!!!
Keep looking, keep trying, keep up-leveling.

The body is designed to heal, and it will if given the support it needs.
If my son can do it...you can too!!!

Take Action

If you have already gotten your symptoms under control, keep going!  Keep doing the things that allow your healing.  If you falter, get back on track.  If you are just beginning your journey, stick with it.  Choose one thing to optimize and go from there.  If you think support and guidance will help you reach your goals quicker, reach out to me and we can hop on a call.
Keep going!
