We are always reading about the importance of exercise.  And it is very important!

But, do you know what the right exercise routine is for you?

It is very common for people with autoimmunity to be over exercising.

I get it! You don't want to give in to your symptoms. However, if you are overdoing it, you may be driving inflammation and making things worse in the long run. It might be time for a mindset shift around physical activity.

So how do you tell if your exercise routine is helping or hurting?

Pay attention to your body! It will let you know.

If you feel fatigued after exercise, it is a sign that you are doing too much for your body's currently needs.  Either the intensity is too high, or the duration too long.

If you get sore for several days after working out, it is too much. The idea of "no pain, no gain" is inaccurate. It will work against your healing if you are creating too much inflammation.

Often, being gentler than we think, but consistent is the way to go.

An object in motion stays in motion.

Gentle, consistent exercise will keep you moving forward.  If you keep getting knocked back when you work out, it isn't serving you.  It may be time to adjust.

Take Action

Really check in with your body to determine if your current exercise routine is serving your overall health. The right amount will fuel you!
