Are you aware that blue light exposure can negatively impact sleep quality?

One of my favorite hacks for improving sleep quantity and quality is to wear blue blockers.

Here is why:
Blue light signals the brain that it is daytime, and it wakes us up.

That is great first thing in the morning...but not all day long, and not in the evening.

When I mention blue light, I am referring, largely, to the light emitted from all of our screens.

This includes computers, tablets, cell phones, and televisions.

So when you are unwinding at the end of the day with your favorite tv show, you are blocking melatonin production and hindering your sleep.

LED and florescent lights also emit more blue light than incandescent (traditional) bulbs do.

More and more frequently, these are the lights being used in homes and offices.

But don't worry!

The simple step of wearing blue blocking glasses after sunset can help protect our circadian rhythm and allow us to fall asleep faster and have better quality restorative sleep.

Many of my clients find that they maintain their energy better when wearing blue blockers while working on their computer.

They really notice the difference.

Take Action

If you don't already wear blue blockers in the evening, give it a try!

And if you do, try adding them in for your computer work and enjoy better energy!

That's it for this week's Take Your Power Back Thursday!

When I mention blue light exposure, I am mainly referring to the light emitted from our screens.

I'll see you here next week!
